In June 2015 we ordered 10 chicks from our local feed store. When we opened the little box of peepers we saw a wonderful surprise; instead of 10 chicks we got 11! Usually chicks die because of diseases and such so that's why we got an extra but thankfully we had no deaths.
In the box we had:
3 Rhode Island Reds
4 Black Sex Links
4 White Sussexs
What a joy these chicks were!!! Their little peeps were such a glorious sound and me and my siblings couldn't stop playing with them. My mom...
Please note: This article is still in progress. Thanks.
So everyone has a chicken pest problem. We have had it more then once and it's not pretty. Some predators like to take it away or eat it there or don't eat it at all and kill for fun. Today I'm going to show and tell you about your common chicken pests and how to get rid of them.
Dogs usually don't eat chickens but they love to chase them. I've had a couple of dogs chase our chickens and they thankfully didn't kill anyone but...
So I just wanted to show off the chicks I got today!!!
Cookies and Cream
Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing on Rainbows (Rainbow)

So as many of you have experienced, old chickens. Just like us they get old and die. But it is also important to make them comfortable for the last days. This will also help with sick hens too.
Some people like to take them out of their suffering and use the axe and we have had to use it once, and I agree, it is really sad but they can't suffer in pain till they die. If it is necessary you can use the axe but I like to take it in a new level.
Here are some things that I do for my old...

I started keeping 3 permanent roosters in my flock in the fall of 2017 and I'm so glad I decided to. Roosters don't really have the greatest reputation but if you get to know one, they can be very sweet.
Please note though that despite the breed, age, etc roosters each have there own personality and if you do have a nasty bird then I do recommend getting rid of it. Don't spend crazy amounts of time trying to make friends with the rooster because MOST if they're mean it's hard to turn them...
