I became involved with orpingtons when Speckledhen posted her story of Suede. I researched all the different colors, but settled on blue on blue because you will never know which color will hatch; blue, black, or splash. I spent years collecting my flock. I have just started hatching chicks this year from these beautiful birds. In 2009, for my birthday I won an auction on Eggbid for a Lavender Orpington Project Rooster from Greenfire Farms. Shipping sure hurts the pocketbook.
