The New Additions......Not so little anymore. Shelby has been crowing up a storm every morning and announcing his presence. He also has taken a liken to one of the year old Buff Orpingtons. She wants nothing to do with even though he is very handsome and has a fantastic crow. Any attempt he makes toward her she rebukes him and will even put him in his place. It's actually funny to see him high-tail it in the other direction with her on his heels!!...
Winter 2011 This is the first winter for my flock. We hardly have any snow, only an inch or two and if their behavior to the little bit we have is any inclination as to their liking I can safely guess that it will be a long winter for my feathered friends. I literally had to coax & bribe them to come out of the pen. Once they were out they searched for any spot that wasn't covered in white. The fire pit was the hangout.
