All constructed separate, the base, rafters and each wall framed, adding interior sheathing and rigid insulating inside the garage. Then moved it all outside to the site for assembly. Monk The old coop... Years ago I tried my hand with chickens and enjoyed them and their eggs very much. As life is, I drifted away from them as they all passed. Now retired I wanted to enjoy them again. The old coop was shot, so I decided to build a new coop. After I started the coop I did a little search on-line and found BYC. We had very little snow this winter, but all went well anyway. The birds seem to spend the majority of their time in the run too. I only used the plywood panels on the north side. The birds freaked out with the west side on and I could not watch them from inside with them on so they were left off. Very little snow have gotten in anyway and the birds tolerated snow pretty well. Never used the light this winter and hasn't effected their egg production. I did buy a plastic heated waterer for...
