I have 1 buff Orpington, 1 barnevelder, 1 cherry egger, 1 silver laced Wyandotte, 2 Easter Eggers, and 3 golden laced wyandottes. They wyandottes are kind of mean, so is one of the Easter eggers and the cherry egger. The buff Orpington and the barnevelder are the 2 ones that go broody. They all are pretty friendly.
At the top of the list is Buff Orpingtons. In my experience I have found them to be the friendliest birds I have. I might be biased, though, since I have one. I have heard of chickens that cuddle (brahmas are known to do that) but never had one. It is my goal for my chickens to be the friendliest they can be, according to each ones specific personality. Hey everyone....I have some sad news. :hitI was removing the unfertlized eggs a day before I had expected it to hatch, picked the fertile egg up, and heard a peep and saw a hole!:love I was amazed and instantly captivated by the little baby inside. Here's the bad news: I left the house that night to sleep over at my cousins house and when I came back the following night there was no trace of the chick, or the egg.
