Hello, and thanks for checking out our 3rd page. Our younger (new) generation has grown up quite quickly, and 2 of the 6 are now laying brown eggs. Star and Peckachu. Because of the tight fit from the chickens being moved from their own 'mini' coop, and we put them now in with the White Leghorns, we've had to make some additional changes... Nest box expansion. This is sort of a "Bay Window" that sticks out from the coop, and supported by a couple of 45 degree angled 2x2's. Of course Everything got insulated and covered up. Here are a couple pictures of the nest egg expansion:
Now, here's another change that needed to be done, because we kept getting water leaking through the connection/opening down into the enclosed part of our coop. This is just a thin piece of plywood angled to prevent snow/water from getting down into that area:
November 2008, and I'm out for a few minutes with the chickens enjoying some quiet time with them:
Here is another nice picture of the Easter Egger we call "Egg" She's almost all black. Note the muffs and beard!
Here is Peckachu on my lap:
It's wintertime (Dec 14, 2008), and the chickens are out for some more nourishment in the snow:
Here we got them some frozen corn & peas, which brought them running over, and then after that they enjoyed a few sunflower hearts while sitting on Caelyn's lap:
