This seemed to be the 'cozy corner' for a while Pecking near the new blueberry patch
Buffy was a gorgeous gal! Buff Orphington with all the plumage coming to boot!! Friendly and gentle too! Her pictures do not do her justice, and I had planned on endering her in the county fair this coming year. Sadly, she was gotten by a hawk early one afternoon while taking a nap under a huge azaelea bush. It had always been a safe place for them, but we all had neglected to realize a wind storm had taken a good amount of leaves from one side. Instead of being safe, she was an open target. I am glad it was quick, so quick there were no alarms and no evidence of a fight, so she did not suffer. She was a doll. I shouldnt' say it but it's true, she was my favorite and is very sadly missed by us all.
