Additional Information6.04.260 Chickens and other fowl--Location restrictions. Chickens, ducks, geese or turkeys may be kept and maintained within the animal control district only in areas which are properly zoned for such use, or a zoning board of adjustment exception has been allowed. Such exceptions may be granted for organized youth group projects and dog training purposes. (Ord. 21-84 § 14, 1984) 6.04.270 Chickens and other fowl--Enclosure and other limitations. All persons owning fowl not mentioned in Section 6.04.260 within the animal control district limits, and all exceptions provided in Section 6.04.260 shall be kept enclosed in a good and substantial pen, and shall limit the number kept to five. Such pen shall not be within one hundred feet of any school, church, hospital, residence or dwelling, except the residence or dwelling of the owner, and the pen shall be cleaned daily and approved by the health department. The zoning board of adjustment may grant exceptions to the one-hundred-foot requirement of this section for organized youth group projects. (Ord. 3-89 § 3, 1989: Ord. 21-84 § 15, 1984)
