Hi all!
My name is Summit, and I've had chickens for a year this April. After much experimenting last summer, we built a 4' x 8' coop that we have recently "renovated". I love it! We have a dog kennel from the previous owners, it is 4' x 18', dug into the ground, and there's cinderblocks on the ground. We put 3' of chicken wire around the bottom so no critters can slip in through the chain link. We have 2 Black Sex Link hens we got when they were 4 months old from a feed store last July: Star and Moon. We also have a standard Cochin from Craigslist named Snowbelle. The Sex Links lay about 6 eggs a week each, and I found an egg from the previously broody Cochin today. We are also raising 6 Gold Sex Link chicks, 4 of which we are going to sell, born January 12, 2010 from a hatchery off of Craigslist. We recently sold two other hens, Speckles, a Light Brahma, and Dusty, an Australorp, to make room for our newest arrivals: the Serama.
On President's Day 2010, foxhollow (Marilyn) is shipping a pair of Serama to us from Jerry S.'s line. Needless to say, we are very excited!! After waiting a week from bad weather, we cannot wait for Monday to come!

And here is the rooster, Valentine, at a show. Excellent type! Picture also courtesy of Marilyn.

Wednesday, February 17, 2010, the Serama arrived a day early and with an extra hen! We are soooo excited and can't wait 'til we have a broody! I'll try to get pictures up soon.
