We were debating on what type of coop to get and I decided to build one. I work at a manufacturing facility so pallets are always around. It is 8ft X 16ft. There is plenty of room. Total cost was $200 and that was for tin and siding.
Yeah! It looks great! I agree - some more pics would be great...I'm getting ready to build a second coop, and this would work well - plus save me some money! Just need a few more pics to see how you put things tiogether. Great job!
beautiful pallet coop!! i love to see others reusing things - our coop is made out of pallets and recycled tin roofing from an old goat shed. we have our duck house built onto the side of the coop, using pallets as well. great idea i got from another thread somewhere for the duck pool that we used - to dig a pit, fill with gravel - then we put a nice sturdy pallet(painted) over the pit then put the pool on top - we made a hole in the bottom, put in a drain stopper and this makes draining and cleaning so easy (when im not using the water for the garden) and keeps the ducks area dry (well they splash a lot so not exactly dry but ya know) not muddy and wet all the time. pics here... http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/670540/coop-picture-thread/20 - and lots more great ideas there. Keep up the good work!!
