4x8 Coop with Side Nesting Boxes and run door

Beautiful coop!! Maybe you can help me with a question I have with my current project.
Did you put anything above the hinge-gap on the access door to the nesting boxes? I'm not sure how to keep the rain from running down the wall (I use T1-11x4 too) and into the nests. Is that even an issue with chickens?

I have a short ceiling on the nesting boxes before the hinges for the door. If I could re-do this, I would simplify things and just have the hinges attach right to the wall and not have the little ceiling. The door would just start at the wall and slope all the way down the nesting boxes. But anyway, to answer your question, I did put exterior adhesive caulk to fill the gap between the wall and the small ceiling of the nesting box. I then applied more caulk to the back of my trim piece before screwing it to the wall. At the door, I have the piece of trim extending out past the top of the door swing about an inch or so. Since the door is sloped down, it should help keep rain out of the nesting boxes since the gap is tucked up under the trim piece. However, if it is windy during the rain, I'm sure it has a chance of leaking into the boxes some. The chickens should know to not stay in the box if its leaking, but if they do, no harm done unless it is cold. Then you risk frost bite. I will be posting an updated video of the coop as soon as youtube stops being dumb. It might answer some questions as it gives you a closer look. Hopefully it will be up tomorrow. Hope this helps.
