This is my rooster , Rocky's story!
Rocky , is a Scots Dumpy rooster , his age is unknown , but he don't act like an eldery rooster anyway lol , when we got Rocky , we saved him from being a meal , as we needed a rooster , and he needed a home , fast! I was afriad of roosters , after never owning one who wasn't very vicious, and he was afraid of humans , when we got him , he was dirty , raggy , afriad of anything that moves , and generally in an awful state! He was still beautiful though!

Soon , he began to improve , he had a few hens , and was extremely happy , and enjoying himself. Both me and him , got over our fear of eachother pretty fast , and he was a real lap-rooster. But one day , When I returned from the shop , there were feathers everywhere! It was raining , so I went looking for him desperatley, I found him , with his girls under a tree for shelter , his beautiful long white tail , ripped out , left with just two feathers on his tail , he was awful looking! but still , he looked like he had taken a beating , with one of his spurs chipped , he had saved his girls from an awful fate!
Anyway , his feathers grew back , he got back to himself , mating with the hens , crowing , being a little happy-chappy, when this summer just gone , a hunting dog broke into the garden , and as weve a lot of land , I had no clue , until he started squaking , i walked down , and saw this huge black gun dog trotting up the garden , with Rocky , hanging limp in his mouth...feathers falling to the ground , swinging head , I ran over to the dog , to give it a belt , it dropped Rocky , and before he even hit the ground , he ran in the opposite direction , the smart rooster had been playing dead to satisfy the dog , away from the hens , I sorted the dog out with its ridiculous owner , and went down to Rocky , he had deep wounds , but was standing over Ebony , a blackrock young hen , who was laying in rush's , with a bleeding back , Rocky had saved her life!
Months past , and Rocky hadn't any further trouble with predators , apart from a small young fox , who squeezed though the ditch , witch he frightend into a corner , until I got the sweeping brush , and got rid of it! All his feathers grew back , and this brave fellow looked amazing! I incubated many of his egg's , and Ebony , the hen he saved , raised 5 healthy beautiful chick's of Rocky's , which he accepted into the flock , with great pride. He manages to put a smile on my face every day , no matter what. He is so amazing , beautiful , brave , funny , and truly 1 in a million! I have never seen a rooster like him , I don't think I ever will , he's made me so happy , and proud to keep chickens , when people ask what chickens I keep , I immediadly tell them about him! He's stunning , isn't he? I think he is , i think he's the most amazing chicken to step foot near our farm! Heres a few photos oh him now that he's living life to the fullest , and some of his offspring! Thanks!
