Recently, I was asked by my sister-in-law to enter a backyard chicken coop design competition in St. Louis, Mo with Critical Mass for the Visual Arts. The competition was held on the 18th of October, 2013 and I decided to enter three designs, one of which was selected as a finalist. The finalists had to actually construct the coop and provide them as a fund raiser for the group and it would be raffled off at the end of the event. As it turned out, I won the competition and to my surprise, I won the raffle for my own coop at the end of the evening. My design is based on the "Wizard of OZ" and the house landing on the Wicked Witch so the coop is designed upside down with a tornado sculpture on top. By the requirements of the competition, it is a fully functional chicken coop with room for four chickens with three easy access doors for cleaning and retrieving eggs. My problem now, is that I have a chicken coop in search of a new home. I have no room for the coop and no place to store it, so if you are looking for a uniquely designed "winning" chicken coop in the St. Louis, MO area, I would be happy to deliver. All I would like out of it is to cover my cost of materials and any cost to deliver it. Please contact me if you are interested in my award winning coop.
