We have a modern architectural style home in a rural setting. We wanted our coop to look good but also be functional. Our flock is lucky enough to free range most of the time, but not every day, so it was important for them to have enough space in the yard. We also got an accidental rooster and have plenty of broody hens, so we later attached a small brooder coop to the the back. The only thing I would do differently is to wall board the inside to make cleaning easier. (I still might do it!) It's small enough that my kids can clean it, but large enough to house 12 -15 birds comfortably.
