Coop floor is 3' off the ground.
Coop measures 3' x 8'. From floor to max ceiling height is approximately 4' tall.
This coop is made entirely from recycled wood. Mainly old pallets and an old privacy fence I took down.
My coop is not finished just yet but is functional for my 10 young girls.

I started with a 3' x 8' pallet and added 6 - 4x4x3. I used a scrap piece of siding for the floor of the roosting area. Then I started adding pallet slats to side to create the walls of the coop.

Then added a top roof beam

Put in a pulley door to the roosting area, then started adding the roof decking. I decided not to do rafters, since the pitch was so steep. The old fencing panels served nicely as both. Then it was time for the time consuming cutting of the pallets into roofing tiles or shakes.

Once the tiles were finished, I used a mixture of diesel fuel and burnt motor to treat the wood tiles.

Then the painting. I hate painting, but it makes it pretty!

Then the adding of the run. I used cattle panels to frame out of the run.

I competed the gate to the run using more pallets for framing. Functional at this point and that's all the birds care about. At least they are on the ground now.
