Here are the timeline photos of my coop that my neighbors Jason and Brian helped me build in April of 2014. I was lucky enough to receive the majority of the materials including the pallets, windows and cedar shakes from Jason. I have about $250 invested in the OSB, plywood and hardware. The interior space is approximately 6'x10'. The siding was stripped from pallets (a lot of work-but worth it in the end). I insulated the interior with 3" rigid insulation board and covered the walls and floor with TPO roofing membrane, which makes it easy to clean. Hardware cloth covers the windows and there are vents at the roof ridge, eaves and gable ends. It has been below zero many times here this winter and my 14 chickens are doing fine without any heat source. I have changed the roost configuration and removed the ladder since these photos. Chickens are healthy and laying lots of eggs.
