I started building beginning of 1/8/16 and finished 3/13/16. just working weekends and a few nights. My wife did help hold up the roof beams. I bought material as needed and used discounted lumber when possible. I'm not a carpenter at all, and I had to buy all new tools to complete this project.
Here's my Jungle Chicken Coop.
Size is a 4 x 10. Front is 8 feet and rear is 6 feet tall.

Selecting an area that faces the house.
Trying to level an area for the run
I wanted to build 2 structures. One for the house and one for the run. Similar to SSLFamilyDad design. I thought it was easy to start.
then trying to level the run. I already had brick pavers. So I reused it.
Now that the base was complete I started adding the frames. I kept every measurement at 4 ,6, or 8 feet. So the coop is 4 x 4 and the run is 4 wide x 6 long. Front height is 8 and rear is 6.
I didn't want a tray to clean, so I went with a mesh floor. Still not sure if its a good idea. Time will tell...
I tried to use 16" on center. But that's just an estimate.
Used a sunturf roof system. This was a bit pricey. Also Weather stained frame.
Palm tree should provide some shade.
Since I made the coop at 4 feet height, I needed a side door for the eggs.
I was lucky to get common board on 70% discount bin at homedepot. Sanded and stained for front wall and egg doors. Looks awesome
Some discounted wood. I uses fence wood for the interior roof.
1/2 inch mesh everywhere
3D printed feeder that connects to a 3 inch PVC pipe: They didn't like it.
Deeper 3 Inch feeder: will test soon.

I'll be adding a bit more décor and plants around it. But its secure.
I left a large vent for the florida summers. I might make a small cover. But seems fine. I do have a front window also.
I'll post more pics soon. Still pending is an Automating door. I only have 2 hens right now. But this can hold plenty more.
Lessons Learned:
Made coop to high. 24 inch to 30 is better.
3D printed feeder too small
Create sturdy door frames. First attempt and coop door failed.
I pre drilled pocket/pilot holes for almost everything.
Door latches auto lock. So careful not to lock yourself in. I almost did. I was lucky I didn't have all my wire cloth installed.
Pay a professional if you don't want to learn carpentry. I'm a programmer (now with carpentry skills)
Use protective gloves and eye glasses at all times. Hardware cloth is not easy to work with.
Hurricane on the way. Hopefully it will be standing after. Will try to anchor down.
