We are couple of retirees who live by Cibolo Creek in Schertz Texas. We have always wanted to share our land/home with animals and poultry, but little did we know that raising chickens is a addiction, once you started, life is never the same....
Now we devote our time to care for Silkie and Showgirl of all colors, bantam Silver Campine, bantam black Cochin. Large fowl we have: Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, Columbian Wyandotte, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Spitzhauben, Blue Wheaten Ameraucana, Marans and olive eggers. We also have GIANT bluff Orpinton and black Austalorp, which are now as big as turkeys (I lost my mind when struck by their size, and decided that I must have them). We had waterfowl too but sold them due to more room needed for chickens, but I'm pretty sure they will work their way back into our lives again soon.
The dogs and cats are taking care of us, we are taking care of the farm, along with guineas that are taking care of the land (bugs, bugs, and more bugs), such is the good life!
