Chandler Arizona Chicken Ordinance

NOT TRUE! I have a Zoning Ordinance violation here from the CIty of Chandler to prove the above information is only PARTIALLY true. It fails to cite the entire law: 35-501
"Most strict of the East Valley Cities. If you do not own a lot 33,000 SF or more (SF-33 or AG-1) within an "agrarian" area, you may not keep chickens on your property. Nowhere in Chandler do they allow roosters- irregardless on if you have 1 acre or 10. " http://blog.richardsonfarmsaz.com/2012/04/17/chandler-chicken-regulations-8.aspx

So the above entry is not true of the MAJORITY of homes in Chandler zoned strictly "residential". You must specifically be in a residence zoned "agrarian residential" with the above defined parameters.
I attempted to abide by the above rules and still have had the zoning and animal control people out several times during the month of July. Thus the chickens must go, BY FRIDAY! (7/20).
So, I'm rehoming two Americana or Easter Egger Hens each just over one year old. They are egg layers. One blue and the other pink. They MUST BE GONE by Friday or the City will cite me for zoning violation and animal control will take them at my expense. Therefore, if you can take these beautiful pets please PM me. Apparently the guy says they're cracking down on egg layers. They really are pets. It's a shame we can't keep these really cool pets.
