"It shall be unlawful and shall constitute a public nuisance for any person to keep within the city any animal or fowl, unless such animal or fowl is kept at all times at a distance of not less than 35 feet from the residence of any other person or any church, school, public building, park or public playground."
You MUST be zoned as agricultural OR apply for a special exemption from the City of Dothan. It requires signatures from every adjoining property owner stating they do not have a problem with you keeping chickens. (This is not stated in the city ordinances, but is strictly enforced)
