Egg-bound chicken causing obturator paralysis - A case study

Very well written and I am glad to see how well she is doing.
The egg(s) you see on the XRay are not in the oviduct, nor are they in the intestines. They are in the abdominal cavity.
Research Internal Laying in Poultry. You might find it interesting.

Well written, covers info so a layman can get it. Very helpful!
Thank you, we have found what is wrong with our young little girl who is wobbly after laying an egg in the afternoon and better by the next morning.
Very interesting - she is lucky to have you!
Very good information & nicely written with obvious compassion for the hen. I enjoyed the added videos and pictures. The demonstration for force-feeding moistened food was very helpful. In the coments the link to proper pacement for mouth-feeding water is also helpful, maybe coiuld be integrated into the article? Updates on her progress needed, please!

Please come see her updates, she is walking!
Excellent article! The level of health care given to this little lady is exceptional. I hope she continues to get better and maybe a hormone implant could help extend her life.

We did it :) I procrastinated a little as I was a little unsure how her recovery was going to go, but things a re looking up! I have posted some updates.
Nice to see positive action and compassion to what some may consider a "hopeless" case.
This may encourage others to try harder when they may have otherwise given up. I know it has educated me.
Good on you mate. ?

Thanks Aussie Chook mum (love the name).
Lots of detailed, evidence-based information. Thank you.
Extremely informative! Thank you for writing it up.
Fabulous article! It has a wonderful balance of science, personal experience, and chicken love. Thank you for taking the time to write and share this, and for sharing the referenced. I, too, will be interested in hearing how she does long term.

Quite well written and very informative! Thank you for taking the time to write such a great article.
My chickens are hybrids that are extremely susceptible to egg binding. This article could prove very helpful to us.

This article is filled with valuable information. It’s good to have some idea how to proceed if this happens to one of your chickens.
Excellent article about something of which I was unaware. The details are all here including reference citations and videos. It was easy to follow and the author's reasoning which led to each decision is included so that we can understand the why.

I would love to see more articles of this quality. Well done.
