When I asked the city clerk if chickens were allowed in the city she said no, and found this section of code. But I am confused because chickens *are* domesticated birds.
This is from sec 10-63
No animal of the equine, bovine or ovine type shall be kept within 150 feet of any residence, school, church, hospital, public building, public park or playground. Such animals may be kept within 150 feet of the residence of the owner or tenant of the property if kept within a barn, stable, shed, building or other structure provided with concrete floors and drains connected to the public sewer or other sewage disposal facility satisfactory to the health officer. The health officer shall find such facility satisfactory if it complies with all applicable laws, ordinances and rules. These floors must be cleaned daily with water under pressure to discharge the waste.

Is this still the case in 2022? Or are chickens now clearly allowed?

Sounds really vague to me, but then, I am no lawyer, … says that the types of animals that must follow these rulings are of “equine, (horses), bovine, (cattle), and ovine, (pigs/hogs), but I see nothing about chickens, or fowl, … and if that is the case, then the city needs to get rid of pigeons, ducks, geese, turkeys, or any other types of birds, including parakeets blue jays, robins, cardinals, Owls, hawks, or other, “protected” species, …
