Ingredients:

2 pkgs. yeast (or 2 tbsp. bulk yeast)
3/4 c. warm water
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 c. butter or margarine
4 c. flour

Cooking Instructions

Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let proof for about 10 minutes. Add butter, eggs, salt and 2 cups flour. Mix until well blended. Add remaining flour slowly, knead until soft dough forms. Cover and let rise in a warm place until double (1 to 1 1/2 hours.) Punch dough down and divide dough in half. Turn one half onto a floured surface and roll into a 14 inch circle. Using a pizza cutter cut the dough into 8 equal triangles (like a pizza). Starting at the widest end, roll each triangle into a crescent roll. Place on a greased baking sheet. Repeat with other half of dough. Cover and let rise until double (1/2 to 1 hour.) This is a rich, heavy dough so needs longer rise times. Bake at 350 ° F for 12 minutes. Brush with butter, if desired. Store in airtight container.

Note: To make a perfect environment for raising any bread dough: Take a qt jar and fill 1/2 way with water. Microwave for 5 minutes. Put the dough in a greased bowl and cover with greased Saran wrap. When the microwave is ready, tuck the qt jar in the rear corner of the microwave and put your bowl of dough in. This often cuts your 1st rise time in HALF!!!
