Our family started with chickens in April 2008. We were not sure which breed or even to what extent we would keep birds. The local Agway had their chicks in, we chose basically one from each bin. Home we went with 7 different fluffy butts! We still have not decided on a single breed - we have the "American Flock" - many colors, sizes, and personalities. As of this moment (06/10) we have:
Light Brahmas, RIR, BO, Comets, Cochins, Black Aust., Welsummer, Sussex, Red Caps, plus a bunch of straight-run chicks and a broody Cochin! Her name is "Coachie" of course!
