Hatchery to Home: A Love Story

    Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to show some love for the ladies I got about 5 months ago. It's been such an amazing experience to start from day old chicks. I love watching them grow and cannot wait to spend many years with my sisterhood. So without further introduction here are some pics throughout the last 5 months.

Driving to the Post Office was very scary. When I got the call my girls had arrived I remember jumping in the car at 6 a.m. to drive the long drive to go get them. I had been setting up my little pen for weeks, and was very ready to meet them. They were all very energetic when I got them, and loved the little pen.

I had purchased 4 Barred Rocks, 1 Clean Faced Easter Egger, 4 Buff Laced Polish, 4 Ameraucanas, 3 Buff Orphingtons

Skip forward a little more than a month, I had lost one Buff Laced Polish to heat stroke (that was very depressing), but everyone else was thriving.

At 3 months we finally started to turn out to the large run when the weather was nice.

Also, we started working through our baby feathers to adult feathers.

Now at around 5 months we are eating everything we can get a hold of, perching, and exploring new places (the backyard). Also, some of the ladies have great hair now.

ok, it took 3 weeks to complete my flock i got them at all different ages and they seemed fine together one of my orpingtons would squeeze through the bars of my divider and hop in with the big chicks (somehow that sounds wrong) and she was fine!

Thank you! They are such a great group of hens! I was very lucky to be able to get a wide variety of ladies in my order. Took me 3 months to finally decide on a group.
