Fascinating article. I learned a lot, and it's very inspiring!

Glad some poisonous plants were listed as warnings. Also loved learning about another chicken keepers plant preferences!

This will definitely be my go-to guide when looking for new plants to feed to my flock.

I appreciate information in listed form - it’s concise and easy to apply. That said, I’d also appreciate a little more detail regarding why a particular plant is not safe for our chicks.
Beautiful photos!
Informing and interesting. Clear and concise. This article is a keeper.
Thanks for the great info and lists. Very helpful
I throw all my weeds and spent flowers in my chicken run and they eat most everything! Thank goodness my are doesn’t have the bad weeds they can’t eat and I don’t grow any of the plants on the don’t feed list :thumbsup
Great article and extremely useful As ever. Thanks!!
I was just getting ready to plant some herb boxes for friends I will add some of these out in there area now have a better list, I know for cure they love garlic, cilantro and lettuce . and maybe do couple of trays with chicken wire over top so they can't get all the way down to the roots for winter time as they are super harsh here

Very nice article with useful information.
I had an EE hen who loved laying her eggs in a box of lavender on my deck. I have found that adding lavender to places that I'd like my hens to lay encourages them to use that spot. Be it the cat house, the wood box on the deck or the ground behind the wheelbarrow, I'm just happy to find them!
I'm curious, do you feed herbs fresh or do you dry them first? Do you hens have favorite herbs? If so, which ones?
Thanks for writing!
