2~A residence or household or other property which is greater than twenty-two thousand five hundred square feet in area may not possess or harbor more than twelve chickens, none of which may be a rooster.

Coop RestrictionsAll chickens within the city must be kept in an enclosure as set forth in HMC 3.40.200(2). The enclosure must be constructed in conformance with applicable building codes, setbacks, and other ordinances, rules and regulations. The enclosure must be kept in a sanitary condition at all times, to include the removal of chicken manure on a regular basis so as to prevent the creation of a public nuisance. (Ord. 09-11 § 3, 2009).
