HOSPEDAJE DE SEÑORITAS

During the last Christmas holidays I started to build a small coop that I named "Villa Gallina" https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/judyki2004s-member-page, it's home to three Black Stars, a roo, Cheb Coco & two hens: Gina & Ginger. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/villa-gallina-residents
Now my friend offer me two chicks, they hatch only a couple of weeks ago, so I have to start to think in accommodations for the girls as they will be too young to join them. Now I am working on the idea of constructing a small "apartment" for them. along with a pvc run.

I'll be updating with the plans as soon as possible...

Here are the coop plans ...
It has to match Villa Gallina, as it will be attached to it, in the back of the run , at its height, the run and coop will occupy and area of 2'x 7' . The coop will be 2'x2'x 2'6" height & the run will be 2'x 5'' x 4'6"h)

I will need:

Wood panel (1/2") cut as follow

Walls (4) 2’x2’6”x ½”
Floor (1) 2’x2’
Nest (2) 1’x2’x ½”

I love the idea of the heart windows, but I'd be worried about rain getting in there. Have you had any rain issues with your other coop?
I've been working on mine for a few weekends and would love to hear any lessons learned.

The other coop have a 12 x 3'6 inches window and even when it rains very frecuently here in tropical Puerto Rico, so far we don't have any problem, they only get there to sleep and lay their eggs so even if itts raining with wind they can hide a dryer area, to the back of the coop as the other 3 walls are closed. We do had problem in the run as initially i don't put any roof over it, so when it was raining they only had the 4x3 space under the coop to hide; but recently i added some roofing and it surely made a difference , no more soaking wet chickens when i get back home from work., any way I would love to add some kind of extra protection ( maybe hang a plastic shower courtain ) in one of the corners of the run.

Wow that is very cute. Love the heart shaped windows. We too have to put a cover over part of the run. Being in So. California we don't get too much rain and very mild weather most of the year.
