Well, they aren't really chicks anymore, but with the 103 temps in Texas right now they are still hot! Here is my little flock. 5 BAs, 4 WRs, 3NHs, 2BRs, and 1 PC. For newbies that's Black Australorps, White Rocks, New Hampshires, Buff Rocks, and Partridge Cochin. The Cochin was a freebie from Murphy's Hatchery. Initially I wanted to get rid of the roosters, but they are on probation for now. I had 12 eggs in one day yesterday. That is the most my 13 hens have produced at one time. I feed Dumor Pellets from Tractor Supply, plus all the fresh greens, fruits, and day old bread I can get my hands on. They love mushrooms and raisins. but they will eat anything. If it is too big or hard for them to eat I put it in the grinder to chop it up and they gobble it down. That's how I can feed them carrots. and other hard vegs. They also enjoy watermelon and fresh tomatoes.
