How to Process your Quail (Including Gory Pictures)

Well written article. Great pictures to accompany the equally great descriptions o on best to process quail. Anyone could follow your directions without problems.
Great article Nabiki! I had bookmarked it when I first got my quail thinking it would be helpful in case I wanted to process some. It for sure was! I’ve cleaned small wild birds like grouse before but these guys are a lot smaller.
Excellent step by step instructions accompanied by excellent pictures to show what it should look like at that step. ? I now have 2 extra males that will be useful even in death. Thank you for preparing this!
Thank you for writing and sharing this. You were clear and very specific. The gory pictures helped a lot too. I'm still working up the courage to try this but you've given me some great insight and motivation! :thumbsup

Clear, well written instructions!
Thank you!
Finally an article that shows and explains all from beginning to the end. Great pictures and details that would help even a beginner. Good job!
Incredibly Excellent explanation of the process, with wonderful quail specific information and tips that weren't previously available on the site. The pics are even beautiful work, gore and all. Great job!
Great detail! Only question I had after reading is: what's the perks to whole vs spatchcocked. Same with skinned vs plucked. I realize one method is easier, so maybe the real question is why would anyone want to save the skin or keep the bird whole?

The main difference is speed and ease. The skin is tasty, so that's a reason to keep the skin. You may want to keep the bird whole in case you want to stuff it.

Thanks for the great review! :-)
Wow! Best processing article ever. So clear and easy to follow, and the pictures are great! Makes me that much more eager to hatch some quail. Thanks so much!
Fantastic Bee!
