We consider ourselves face paced city people who also appreciate slowing down sometimes. We try to live sustainably, eat wholesomely and know where our food comes from. And so even though we live in a pretty urban area, we are making the most of our little backyard, with the addition of a small flock of chickens and trying to grow what we can despite not having green thumbs or much experience. We feel this will also help us teach our young daughter some invauable life lessons.
We have 2 Mottled Javas, 2 Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas, 2 Blue Birchen Marans, 1 Easter Egger and 1 Barred Plymouth Rock. They are all now between 3 and 4 weeks old (hatched in March) and we're trying to figure out which are girls and which are boys so we know which we can keep.
