These items apply to all fowl. Fowl, as defined by the city ordinance (Article 1, Section 5-1), means a domestic bird used in the market or household for food consumption, such as a chicken, duck, goose, guinea, peafowl, turkey, pheasant, pigeon or other avian species. 1. All fowl \"fences\"/pens must not be closer than 150 feet from any other dwelling (except for owner\'s house). There must be a minimum of ground space of 15 square feet per fowl. (Sec. 5-105) 2. All fowl must adhere to nuisance noise and odor/sanitation requirements specified in the ordinance for all animals. (Sec. 5-9 and 5-10 of Chapter 5, article 1) 3. Fowl are not allowed to run at large. (Sec. 5-110) 4. It is unlawful for any person to give away rabbits, chicks, reptiles, or wild or exotic animals as prizes. (Sec. 5-113) (Ord. The animal control officer added that there is no discrimination against roosters, but that most of the noise complaints in town come from owners of roosters.
