HI THere, I am a new member from St. Margaret's Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada. I have had chickens for years, but am always learning new lessons in their care and our enjoyment. Currently we have 10 baby chicks in the house in a very upscale, homebuilt condo! If I can figure out how to do it I will post a photo or two. THe chicks are 6 weeks old now and all are at different stages of feathering out and trying to fly. Very fun to watch. We have a buff orpington, a buff polish, 2 partridge silkies, a dark leghorn, 2 golden wyandots, 2 light brahmans and a buff banty cochin. I found this site because I was looking for information about our banty...she has not grown at all since she was a week old. The others are developing normally, while she is sill the size of a new hatchling. She is very healthy and holding her own with the others. In fact she enjoys being able to sleep under all of them! I was interested in hearing that others have had a similar experience. We will probably not be able to put her out in the coop when the others go as she will not fare as well with the older hens. Any advice?
