| Additional Information | Sec. 18-33. Removal of animals and fowl on petition of neighbors. If 50 percent of the property owners within 500 of lots or enclosures where animals or fowl are kept and maintained complain by petition to the city council that the presence of animals or fowl in their area is a nuisance, the owners of such animals or fowl shall remove them from the city limits. Persons failing to comply with the provisions of this section within a maximum of 72 hours after notice is given will be subject to a fine as provided in section 1-10. (Ord. No. O-10-99, § 1(4-4), 4-26-1999) Sec. 18-43. Fowl. (a) At large. It shall be unlawful for any person raising or keeping chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl or ducks, whether owned by such person or under the control of such person, to willfully suffer or permit any such fowl to be at large upon the public streets, avenues, or alleys of the city or to willfully suffer or permit such chickens, turkeys, ducks or guinea fowl to be at large or to go upon the premises owned or in possession of or under the control of any other person in the city. (b) Confinement in enclosures. It shall be the duty of every person raising, keeping or harboring chickens, turkeys, ducks or guinea fowl, whether owned by such person or under the control of such person, to keep the same in a suitable enclosure so constructed as to prevent any such fowl from going at large upon the public streets, avenues or alleys of the city, or on the premises of any other person residing adjacent to the place or premises where any such fowl are being raised or kept. (c) Cleanliness of enclosures. It shall be the duty of every person raising or harboring chicken, turkeys, ducks or guinea fowl to keep the enclosure referred to in subsection (b) of this section in a sanitary condition so that it shall not at any time become foul or offensive to adjacent neighbors or to the public.
