Breed Information, Comments, and Experience with breed:
Striking black and white markings, slate legs, white earlobes, single comb, fair layer of medium white eggs. Small/average in size, hens about 4-5 lbs. Curious, friendly disposition. The breed originated in Germany or the Netherlands, probably in the 1800s, but has been recognized only since about 1930. Probably named for the Lakenvelder area of Holland.
