Breed Information, Comments, and Experience with breed:

Our Lakenvelder, Ilsa, is the star of the barnyard. Her bright black and white and red coloring attracts a lot of attention, as does her friendly and plucky personality. She follows us everywhere making a low clucking sound, hoping that we might have a handful of corn for her. The Lakenvelder is an active breed, and an excellent forager. Tracing its roots to Germany and the Netherlands, the eye-catching Lakenvelder has a great annual output of medium-size white eggs.
