We finally finished our brooder and thanks to all of the great feedback and images from other brooders we were able to build ours. This was the first time my husband and I had built anything like this so it was a definite learn as you go. We wanted to make sure it was large enough for the 16 chicks we are getting and still be able to fit into our spare bedroom. We had to take it apart to get it into the bedroom but I think will be perfect. We are workin on our coop right now and it should be finished by the time the chicks are 4-5 weeks old and since we have warm weather we are hoping to move them out of the bedroom at that time. I just wanted to share since I learned so much from everyone here. 
We have added a tarp underneath to protect the carpet and I have added the pellets and warmer and both the food and water bowls. I added a small perch and i have a small paper plate that they can use until they know what their food is. I can't wait until they get here!
