[IMG]Herb in the planter boxes make it smell great! and make nice treats for the birds.
[IMG] I kept 9 birds and they all love their yard. 2 months old.

We just made a move from Belgium ( 3 years from a Air Force move ) to Texas with lots of land and wanted to try our hand in Chickens! We don't have any build experience ! and we even had to buy all the tools. We needed a coop that can handle the very hot weather here in southern Texas 106! So lots of venting! We made our own plans and looked around at this wonderful site!

It is a 4x8 and 7feet at its peek with lots of roost and vents. Both ends open to do a clean sweep from one end to the other. The floor is covered in wire and then I have a heavy plastic covered board over it for the cooler days.[IMG]
[IMG] I swapped out the small feeders for large hanging feeders. We are going to make an auto feeders soon.

Nice coop. I wonder if the ventilation you started with is still working or if you have added more to cool things down?

Smart to use white to reflect away the sun/warmth. beautiful coop! wow. I'm a fan myself of that tin roof. Just a sharp looking coop there.

Thank you for your kind comments! Its was 90 degrees yesterday and all the venting came in handy! I may have to remove the floor soon too. I think I may have to put in some window/vents on the two door. We do have a temperature gauge inside that we can read from the house. We also have wheels on it so we can move it if needed. They are at 4 weeks today so I still have the Brinsea EcoGlow Brooder inside it, it does get down to the 40s at night. So far they all seem very happy!

This is so creative! I'm in love with the personal touches on the inside and how it's tucked into a cozy corner of the property!
