    Additional InformationLubbock/CODE OF ORDINANCES/Chapter 4 ANIMALS* - Poultry or Chickens are not mentioned anywhere in the code (except for refrences in sections concerning \"Rendering Establishments\", Disposal of Manure. \"Poultry raising, killing, dressing, and packing\" is listed under \"Industrial Uses\" in Chapter 29 \"Zoning\". I believe this would apply to commercial poultry establishments. They are not identified as livestock, nor are they identified Dangerous Wild Animals or Wild Animals. The code defines a \"Pet Animal\" as below, I believe poultry would fall in here. Specific legality of chickens (Hens) or Roosters, or square footage requirements are not specified from what I can tell. Pet animal means any animal that may be kept as a pet within the City of Lubbock so long as all of the required provisions of this chapter are met, and is not a Dangerous Wild Animal or a Wild Animal, including but not limited to the following animals: (1) Reptiles - Any non-venomous reptile that is not protected from ownership by any state or federal law; (2) Birds - Any birds commonly kept as pets that are not protected from ownership by any state or federal law, or any bird kept for falconry purposes by a state and federally permitted falconer;........
