We used 6 free Pergo pallets. They are approx 8 ft wide and 7 ft tall. Just nailed them together. Purchased 2x4's to nail the clear Plexiglass roofing to. Part of the roof is metal roofing that was left over from the house. The dimensions are approx 9 ft x 16 ft.

Here they are 19 days old. As you can see we installed a fan for air circulation and have an addl. fan set up to cool the chicks off.

We got some old torn tractor trailer tarps. They give shade but let rain through. We stapled them to the fence. The guard cat loves this, she uses the tarps like a hammock. I also bought Tyvek house wrap and wrapped the Chicken house with it. Keeps the wind and cold out in the winter and in the hot southern summer, I just keep it rolled up to let the breeze through. My friend brought me her last 2 chickens that were left from her flock. Some dogs killed 28 of her chickens in 2 years. One of them has a bad leg, but since she is living here, she has started laying again. :)

Nesting boxes are up. No Poop shields yet. We had to take them down again, because Bertha started laying her eggs underneath the nesting box. Will post updated pics this weekend.
