Lancaster County Chickens
I have 9 chickens in my backyard in Lancaster county. Five of those chickens are a cross between Rhode Island Reds and White Leghorns, and the other four are Barred Plymouth Rocks.
Facts about Rhode Island Reds: Rhode Island Reds are one of the most popular dual purpose chicken breeds in the backyards of America. Rhode Island Reds lay brown eggs, have red ear lobes and no wattle (depending on how they were bred), and tend to be docile towards their well- known owners. They are argueably the best backyard egg layer chickens there are.
