I recently purchased a used portable building to house my chickens. I am a Newbie at chickens and really want to have the easiest and best enviroment for my chicks and for me to be able to clean their coop out.

Here is a picture of the outside of the portable building:

After getting it setup and all I started working on the inside this past weekend. I bought some cheap linoleum and placed it on the floor:

Since putting the flooring in I have started putting up bathroom wall board around the inside of the coop part in order to keep the side walls clean. You notice in this picture the 2x4 on the ground & on the left will be the wall separating the storage /brooder area.

The finished wall dividing the storage area from the Coop / Chicken living area.

    Update - March 17, 2014

After two months of snow / ice and below freezing weather I am finally beginning to get to work on my Chicken Run. I found Bailey's Chicks design and figured that this would be the best design for the amount of chickens that I am going to have. Especially since I have no plans on growing my flock any time soon.

y'all those little prefabs are very cool. But, I like the dirt floor much better in that setup. Unless my dirt floor freezes solid (which actually happened to me in Germany one time) I prefer a dirt floor with hay or some other padding. Little prefab buildings are great!

We actually went to a guy who makes those barns and saw he also makes coops. Looks like your barn with nesting boxes on the side and no porch. Our girls are in a nice, new and much warmer coop than what they would have had from our first one. This winter has been brutal this year though it hasn't stopped the production of each one laying or them going out in it :/

Love it! I see those buildings for sale at various places around here too. If I didn't have a coop built here already I probably would have done something like that! Please post more pictures when you are done too!

My hubby originally wanted to go with one of these prebuilt barns. There is a place up the road from here with the exact same looking barn! But he eventually decided to build our coop. I love these barns! Good luck with your babies!
