This is a modified A Frame coop that I was able to build for under $100 using scrap lumber I had on hand and raiding the "discount" bin at the local home improvement store. It's really a simply design and I need to give credit to member Oandrea for the initial design genesis and idea. No formal plans were used, just a lot of thinking and measuring. Took about 12 total hours to complete - most likely 6-8 hours if I had to do it again. That's learning curves for you!
Hardware cloth in the bunk house for the summer so waste just drops through to the yard - a sheet of plywood will be the floor in winter. Still have yet to stain it and add wheels but the ladies seem happy.
Saw an owl perched about 20 yards away in the evening it was finished. Woke up the next morning to a Cooper's hawk sitting right on the coop. And we're in town! Door size is about 9.5 inches wide by 12 inches high. Should be plenty of room for my Jersey's and Brahmas.
Coop measures about 5 feet wide by 10 feet long. Total "pasture" space is about 24 square feet - roughly 4 feet per bird.
