My coop is a fairly large annex to a 10,000 foot shop that sits on our ten acre parcel, nestled within the quaint community of Big Bend, Wisconsin.

The front half of the coop, complete with roosts and fans, of course, is for my seven BBB turkeys- all of which are my beloved pets.

The back portion of the coop is for my one rooster- a New Hampshire red, mearle. During the day, mearle hangs out with his turkey brothers and sisters in their 700 square foot run.

All of the birds go on a run/ walk with me twice daily. They also are treated to fresh produce twice daily, with whatever is in season on the menu in the summer months.

My birds are pampered. I spend obscene amounts of time and money on them. Time, to the detriment of everything and everyone else in my life. These birds are what I love in life. They know it. They have my number. But they seem to be grateful based on how very sweet each one of them is. That is... except for my one brat. But even he, has a sweet moment or two, now and then.
