My Canadian Red Sussex Cross Hen And Rooster

    [​IMG]These are my 11 Sussex birds. They all have their own personalities and I'm just starting to be able to see differences between each by the lightness of feathers, their wattles etc. I want to name them all but I have to be able to tell them all apart first, LOL! I had 12 chicks originally but one was accidently killed by one of my meat birds the Cornish giants. I also have two roosters of the same breed, sussex but they are white colored. I guess I spoil my little flock. They have a 30 ft run outside their house and their house is 8 by 10. The get lots of fruit and vegis with their chicken feed which I serve to them on a corningware paper plate,LOL,[​IMG] and they look forward to that. Their chicken house has two solar lamps for light and an automatic chicken door which I can activate manually from my dining room table while I"m having my coffee in the mornings. I've built a community nesting box so they can keep each other warm in the upcoming Yukon winter. We,ll have to see how that works though. They may not like the long nesting box with the little brown curtains, LOL! They're due to lay their first eggs in a[​IMG]
