My little mixed flock

  1. sharon1955
I have been raising chickens near 16 years. A year ago I lost the last 4 I had to either coon or coyotes, not to sure which it was that got into the pen when the door to the pen was mistakenly left open one night. I purchased some chicks this last spring, 2 silver laced Wyondotts, 4 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Easter Egger's which one turned out to be a rooster but what a handsome guy he is. The Easter Egger hen I call the bearded lady, and the roo I call Blue. They are about 20 weeks old. Can't wait for some fresh eggs !

I've had a tough summer on my flock with predators or accident. I feel your loss. Your birds look so regal. Good luck!

Your EE looks exactly like mine. Her name is Annabelle, she's a flighty thing, but is much better after I got rid of my old roo, and got my new one, a Marans. I have my first "olive egger" pullet-that's 5weeks old. Waiting to see the color, she'll lay.
What a lovely roo you have!

congratulations! What would you call the coloring on your roo? I had a couple that had the same coloring and I just didn't know what to call it. They weren't EE's but the coloring was almost identical.
