Additional InformationLicence is $50/year. You have to apply for a licence, and appear before the Board. They will notify your abutters and give them an opportunity to object. An objection does not necessarily mean your licence will be denied. And inspector will come and inspect your property before the licence is granted, and again after the licence is granted. You need to tell them how the chicken feed will be stored & how you will dispose of waste. In subsequent years you will not have to appear before the board to receive your licence. All hen houses shall be located as directed by the Board of Health or its agents. No hen house or yard shall be located within fifty (50) feet of any dwelling nor within fifteen (15) feet of any party line nor within fifteen (15) feet of the line of any street, except by special permission of the Board of Health. The above minimum distance requirements may be enlarged or increased in any particular case at the discretion of the Board of Health.
