Great idea, especially with a coop that is not easily entered by human sized creatures.
It looks like you actually used a reducer and the upper elbow is a slightly smaller diameter. I'm assuming that is a "I had it on hand" thing but the parts list was a "if you have to buy all the parts" list.

I live in northwest Florida and we keep a high humidity (90's) all the time. Do you have any problems with your feed in the flower pot getting moist and solid, then preventing any fresh from moving down? Also, have you experienced any mold or moisture in the tube?

Great questions! If I go with this setup (which I love), I will have mine in an inside coop, but I'll only have 10 or less bantam hens. So, I was also wondering if I would need to anticipate any problem with the feed going stale or old before they eat it all. But, I could of course just put in less at a time. Also, I live in upstate SC and we have amazingly hot and humid summers, also, but, again, this will be housed inside the building.

I like this idea because half of my shed is going to be the coop with a screened divider wall with the other half being a storage for garden and chicken supplies, etc. I would build mine so that I can access the fill hole from the garden side of the shed without having to walk inside the coop area. Even though the coop area will be more than human size with a human-size screen door to access the coop, it will be nice to not have to step onto the litter to refill the food.
