Additional InformationArticle 1 Sec. 5-7. - Keeping of hogs, goats, horses and chickens. (a) No person shall keep or maintain any hogs or goats within any enclosure which is within 50 feet of any residence or other dwelling place other than that of the keeper thereof. The pen, pasture or enclosure in which the hogs or goats are kept shall have an overall area of at least 20,000 square feet and shall provide an area of at least 900 square feet for each such animal. (b) No person shall keep or maintain any cattle or horses if the barn, shed or stable in which the cattle or horses are kept is within 50 feet of any residence or other dwelling place other than that of the keeper thereof or, if the pen, pasture or enclosures in which such animals are kept has an overall area of less than 20,000 square feet, if the area where the horses are kept has an area of less than 10,000 square feet for each such horse or an area of less than 20,000 square feet for each such cow or other cattle. (c) No person shall keep or maintain any rabbits, chickens, ducks, turkeys or other domestic fowl within any enclosure which is within 100 feet of any residence or dwelling place other than that of the keeper thereof, provided that no more than 25 fowl or rabbits shall be permitted for each 20,000 square feet for each animal. (d) This section shall not apply to animals or fowl kept in the conduct of a commercial enterprise or business at locations where such enterprise or business is permitted. (e) No roosters which crow shall be kept within 300 feet of any residence or dwelling except that of the owner or keeper. (f) Livestock shall not be allowed to run at large, and when legally kept must be restrained in a manner and by such means as will prevent such animals from escaping, straying or running at large. Gates used to restrain livestock shall be kept closed with a chain and padlock to minimize vandalism. Each time that livestock are found running loose or not kept as required by this section is a violation. (g) The terms \\\"pig,\\\" \\\"hog,\\\" \\\"swine\\\" or \\\"large animal,\\\" as used in this chapter, shall include domesticated Vietnamese potbellied pigs. (Code 1998, § 5-7; Ord.
