Welcome to my homepage. I am from Indiana, have 2 grown--well almost--boys--in college, 2 dogs--3 mini dachshunds and a Chinese crested and 4 new EE chicks.
I was mulching my garden by laying down newspapers and in the batch of newspapers was an old copy of Mother Earth News. I sat down for a break and started reading--and of course there was an article on raising a few chickens in your backyard. Well I thought that was just a wonderful idea. I am far away from neighbors on over 6 acres so I decided to give it a try. So far I have not had any problems, but it is a learning experience and of course, if there are any complaints then the girls may need a new home. Fortunately I have friends with farms and lots of space who would take them in a heartbeat

Update--as of March '09 no problems with the chicks--all are girls and all are laying nice big eggs. Check the EE Chicken Page for pictures-----
